Mary Poppins Attraction and Spaceship Earth Removed from The Epcot Experience
Guests were surprised when they visited The Epcot Experience when EPCOT reopened and found that the refurbishment for Spaceship Earth and the announced Mary Poppins attraction were removed., indicating their projects were cancelled or on hold.
The Orlando Business Journal confirmed with Disney that the Mary Poppins attraction, referred to as the Cherry Tree Lane project, is "on hold for evaluation."
The iconic Spaceship Earth was also scheduled to be refurbished starting May 26 but has since been removed from The Epcot Experience video and is still open to guests.
The attraction was still planned to take you through time but the journey was going to be transformed with new scenes to reflect the power of storytelling that can unite the human experience. A new narration and a new musical score that will focus on the moments and ideas that define our story were to be part of the changes. Also being added to the attraction is a magical “story light” that you follow throughout the story to bring the entire experience to life by giving each scene energy and beauty tying the entire journey together.
