A Theme Park with Animals
Disney's newest park, Animal Kingdom, opened in 1998 and covers an area of 500 acres, which over 1700 animals call home. You can venture on a safari expedition and see many of these animals in their natural habitats. Animal Kingdom recently expanded in 2017 with Pandora - The World of Avatar. In Pandora you can ride on the back of a banshee and travel the colorful and luminescent world of the Pandora tribe.
Animal Kingdom is built around the theme park's icon, The Tree of Life. The Tree of Life rises 145 feet above the ground and has over 300 animals carved throughout the magnificent spectacle. At the base of the tree is the 4D ride, It's a Bug's Life.
Animal Kingdom consists of trails which bring you through the themed lands and showcase the animals and plant life that call these areas home. These areas include:
Asia - Expedition Everest, Maharaja Jungle Trek
Discovery Island - Tree of Life, It's a Bug's Life
Africa - Killimanjaro Safari, Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail
Dinoland USA - Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur,
Pandora - Avatar Flight of Passage, Na'vi River Journey
