UPDATE: Tron Attraction Coming to Magic Kingdom Park

Last summer Disney unveiled plans for a thrilling Tron coaster-style attraction to be added in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park. Today, Disney revealed the new Tron-themed billboard at Magic Kingdom Park that's currently visible from Storybook Circus (pictured above).

UPDATE: Tron Attraction Coming to Magic Kingdom Park

The new attraction will occupy a new area which is North of Space Mountain and East of Dumbo. In order to make room for Tron a few modifications will be made to nearby attractions as construction begins.

Walt Disney Railroad:

The Walt Disney World Railroad will temporarily become stationary at the Main Street Station starting in December 2018. This will temporarily pause the grand-circle tours of Magic Kingdom Park which goes around the perimeter of the park through the different lands. Guests will still be able to get an up-close look at the railroad and take advantage of one-of-a-kind photo opportunities.

Tomorrowland Speedway:

The Tomorrowland Speedway will close for a portion of 2019, as the attraction’s track is adjusted to make room for the new Tron Coaster. It will reopen as the same attraction in the summer of 2019.

The new Tron attraction is scheduled to debut in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021. The attraction is based on TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland. This coaster-style attraction allows riders to board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles for a race through the digital frontier. TRON Lightcycle Power Run debuted on Shanghai Disneyland’s opening day and remains the highest-rated attraction at the park.
