The Disney Wish Is Sailing the High Seas!
After much anticipation, the Disney Wish is officially sailing the high seas! The Disney Wish, the fifth and newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, was officially christened on June 29 in Port Canaveral, Florida.
During the ceremony, three Make-A-Wish ambassadors—Colby, 10; Megan, 16; and Jenna, 13—played a historic role, representing past, present and future Make-A-Wish children and recited the blessing of the ship, which bestows good fortune on the vessel and all who sail aboard it.
Tony Award-winning entertainer Anika Noni Rose, the Disney Legend known for voicing Tiana in Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog,” joined in the fun for a stirring performance of the beloved Disney Parks ballad “Wishes.”
The event ended with the ceremonial breaking of a champagne bottle against the ship’s hull, and of course in Disney fashion a series of pyrotechnics, special effects, and music.
Now, let's take a look at the magical castle on the seas.
The grand hall is a fairytale-inspired space designed as a tribute to the story of Cinderella and includes a beautiful bronze statue of the beloved princess, stained-glass embellishments in her signature colors and icons from the Disney film classic that you can discover in unexpected places including the carpeting, metalwork and light fixtures.
Now to where you will rest your head, the stylish staterooms aboard the Disney Wish are tastefully accented with elegant touches of Disney magic. The spaces are designed for maximum comfort with plenty of room, advanced storage options and upscale amenities. Plus, most staterooms feature Disney's signature split-bathroom concept, with a sink and shower in one room and a sink and toilet in a separate room, which certainly makes getting ready for a day of fun at sea much easier!
We will dive into the kids clubs, dining, entertainment and adult only areas in a Disney Wish series coming soon.
