Happy National Pizza Day! To celebrate this joyous and delicious occasion, let's tour Disney Parks and find the best pizza slice! Also, to celebrate the occasion, Pizza Ponte at Disney Springs is offering a free Sicilian square slice of pepperoni or four cheese pizza with the purchase of a cold beverage from 11-2 pm today only!
Disney World:
My favorite pizza in all of Disney World (and maybe even North America) can be found at the Italy Pavilion at the World Showcase at Epcot. That's right, you guessed it - Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria! Here you can order authentic Neapolitan thin-crust pizza made with fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes and real Caputo flour that Disney imports directly from Southern Italy. Is your mouth watering yet?
Also in Disney World you can find pizza at the Boardwalk Pizza Window which serves classics like cheese and pepperoni pizza but also the signature Boardwalk Pizza with Italian sausage, onions, peppers and balsamic glaze. Across the way at the Yacht Club Resort you can visit the newly opened Ale & Compass Restaurant which serves some delicious New England-inspired Hearth Oven Pies, including a seasonal market vegetable pie, a caramelized leek and chorizo pie, and a white clam pie.
Disney Springs has many places to satisfy your pizza cravings including Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza where you can order a Red Vine pizza with Ovalini mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, parmesan, basil, red sauce and olive oil drizzle, or the Green Stripe pizza with pesto drizzle over chicken, red peppers, garlic, mozzarella and arugula. You can also build your own pizza and have it made right on the spot! Pizza Ponte is one of the newest additions to Disney Springs. They offer pizza by the slice, sandwiches and incredible desserts including cannolis, tiramisu, baba, and zeppole con panna. Disneyland:
For pizza by the slice such as pepperoni, vegetarian and cheese make sure you stop by Redd Rockett's Pizza Port or Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta. But, if you are looking for authentic pizza straight from Italy go to Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria at the Downtown Disney District. You can get a Classic Neapolitan pizza with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce, or take part in the Valdostana pizza with potatoes, speck prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and fontina cheese. Anything you choose will be delicious!
