It was just announced at Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Annual Meeting of Shareholders that the Avengers Campus will be opening July 18 at Disney California Adventure! The Avengers "campus" (land) is set up by the Avengers to recruit the next generation of Super Heroes and will feature the first ride-through attraction to feature Spider-Man.
The Spider-Man attraction, called WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, gives you the change to test drive the latest invention: the “Web Slinger” vehicle, which allows you to sling webs just like Spider-Man! You must help Spider-Man collect Spider-Bots that have taken over!
Avengers Campus will also feature three new dining options! The most anticipated venue, Pym Test Kitchen, a food innovation science lab, will serve food and drinks that tell a story. Ant-Man and The Wasp use “Pym Particles” to grow and shrink just about anything and now Pym Technologies is applying this science to food. The menu will include shareable bites, inventive-sized entrees and sweet treats. Two items that were announced today include the Impossible™ plant-based large and micro meatballs with pasta and the “Pym-ini,” a panini served by the slice or as a long, multi-portion sandwich.
You could have heroic encounters with Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Thor and even villains like Loki! Ant-Man and The Wasp will be making their first appearances in the park and Iron Man will be debuting his new armor in Avengers Campus: the Mark 80.
Doctor Strange will be training recruits in mystic arts at a nearby ancient sanctum that will come to life with spells. At night the area will glow with colors and lights, pulsating with mystic energy.
New exclusive merchandise will also be available at Avengers Campus including Spider-Bots!
Please note that the Avengers Headquarters is set to open in phase two and therefore will not be open July 18. Avengers Headquarters will become the future entrance to a brand-new E-Ticket attraction where you can step on board a Quinjet and fly alongside the Avengers in an epic adventure to Wakanda and beyond! Aboard an all-new innovative ride system, you will team up alongside the Avengers in a battle against one of the most powerful villains they have ever faced.
