A new sand sculpture has splashed into Disney's Animal Kingdom for Earth Month. The sand sculpture celebrates the April 22 release of the Disney+ Original Series "Secrets of the Whales" and features a sperm and humpback whale and a narwhal.
Artists carved in the sculpture out of 40 tons of sand and it took them over 16 hours to complete the design. You can watch the time-lapse below.
The four-episode series, executive produced by James Cameron, narrated by Sigourney Weaver, and featuring National Geographic Photographer and Explorer Brian Skerry, takes viewers to the center of the whale world to experience the communication skills and social structures of five different whale species: orcas, humpbacks, belugas, narwhals and sperm whales. The new series took over three years to film in 24 locations!
The sculpture will be on display at the Discovery Island Stage through April 30.
