Hong Kong Disneyland to Close Again After Increase in COVID Cases

Hong Kong Disneyland reopened on June 18 but is now shutting down again due to the a surge in COVID-19 cases. Hong Kong is recording 52 new coronavirus cases a day and therefore, Hong Kong Disneyland Park will temporarily close on July 15.


"As required by the government and health authorities in line with prevention efforts taking place across Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland park will temporarily close from July 15, 2020" according to the Hong Kong Disneyland press release. The hotels will remain open at Hong Kong Disneyland resort but will adjust levels of services including additional social distancing measures and increased cleaning and sanitization.


Despite Hong Kong Disneyland closing again, Walt Disney World resort is still safe for guests according to Josh D'Amaro, the new chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, "We are in a new normal," D'Amaro told CNN Business on Saturday. "The world is a different place, but we feel really prepared to operate in this new environment."
