We all know that it started with a Mouse but it really started with the man behind the mouse: Walt Disney. On December 5, 1901, Walter Elias Disney, the founder and creator of The Walt Disney Company was born. Happy 118th Birthday Walt Disney!
The idea from Disneyland actually started from a bench. Walt would often have a “daddy’s day” with his daughters, Diane and Sharon, at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. As they rode the Merry-Go-Round, Walt would sit on a park bench wondering why there wasn't a place where children and their parents could have fun together. This is where Walt Disney came up with the idea for Disneyland.
