Walt Disney World has just updated their face covering policy to require all guests (ages 2 and up) to wear a face covering while indoors and in Disney transportation regardless of vaccination status beginning July 30. This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas.
The change in policy follows the CDC recommendation for everyone to wear masks indoors despite vaccination status to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others.
Orange County, Florida (where Disney World is located) has declared a state of emergency as new infections of COVID-19 surge to a single-day high yesterday of 1,371 new infections. The COVID-19 tests positivity rate over a two-week period is nearly 16% for the county.
