Disney Has Reached Agreement With Unions to Require Vaccinations for All Onsite Employees

Disney has reached an agreement with the union on Monday that will require all onsite employees to be fully vaccinated by late October, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The union agreement was signed Monday and will require all onsite employees to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of their vaccination by October 22. More than 60% of the approximately 60,000 employed at Walt Disney World are unionized and reprsented by the Service Trades Council.

“This means to work at Walt Disney World, unless you have a medical or religious accommodation need, that you will be required to be vaccinated,” Unite Here Local 362 president Eric Clinton said. “Vaccines are the best way to protect all of us, and Disney will be requiring it of its cast members.”

Employees can request religious or medical exemptions under the agreement and will meet with the exempted employees on a case-by-case basis to discuss their circumstances.

The Walt Disney Company also requires all salaried and non-union employees to be vaccinated against COVID 19 by September 30.
