The Walt Disney Company is altering their movie strategy in light of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States. After releasing Frozen 2 three months early on Disney+, The Walt Disney Company is releasing the animated movie, Onward, digitally tonight and on Disney+ April 3 (U.S.). You can purchase the movie, Friday, March 20, through Movies Anywhere for $19.99 starting at 8 PM E.T.
“While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” Onward's director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae said in a joint statement.
Onward debuted in theaters March 6 and with the coronavirus outbreak causing movie theaters across the country to close and social distancing measures taking place, Walt Disney Pictures is bringing the film and joy to families across the country.
